I’m a writer, editor and video producer in New York.

I cover the intersection of economics and daily life, with a particular interest in the barely-legal economy and a more-than-passing interest in data.

I’m currently an editor at Fortune, covering inequality, work and climate change. I’ve also worked for CBS News, HuffPost, Crain’s New York Business and a bevy of local papers.

I’ve been in media since the mid-aughts, when I landed on the East Village couch of a friend who worked at The Indypendent, and then landed at the Indy for several years. My work’s also appeared in or on Mother Jones, City Limits, The New York Times Local, Crain’s New York Business, Gotham Gazette, Voices of New York and elsewhere.

I’ve also researched and reported for the late Wayne Barrett, translated for TIME and managed a digital photo lab. Along the way I got a master’s from the Newmark School of Journalism.
